Department of Computer
The Department of Computer Application was created in 1990.
Ever since its inception, the department has been a pioneering academic centre for higher education, research, and innovation in key areas of computer science. The vision of the department is to enable India's excellence in the world of computer science and automation. The driving mission for the department is to advance the frontiers of research in computer science and automation and offer world-class pedagogical and research experience to its students.
The Department functions under the Faculty of Information and Communication Engineering.
Mr. D.S. Ruhela is currently the Head of the Department.The Department imparts world class training and research. The Department provides state of the art computing facilities to the students.
It also promotes active industry-institute collaboration by identifying areas of interest and taking part in sponsored research projects and consultancy servicesSome
of the major research areas which the faculty members and students
working on are Networks, Database, Theoretical Computer Science,
Multimedia, Image Processing, Software Engineering and Data Mining.
